The Slik PRO CF-834 Carbon Fiber Tripod is a 4-section tripod, which means it is a little heavier, shorter, and less sturdy than the PRO CF-833, but it is also easier to fit into luggage. The PRO CF-834 reaches 64.9" when fully extended, compresses to 18.9", and weighs only 3.4 lbs. It has a maximum load of 15.4 lbs. The CF-834 has a reversible head mount screw which can be used in either the 3/8" or 1/4-20 position. The leg locks are the twist collar type, but the Anti-Rotational System legs keep the leg sections from rotating inside each other, so the lock is easy and positive. The carbon fiber leg tubes are comprised of 8 layers of interwoven carbon filaments which are then bonded together.
